340 million soums owed to the family of an employee who died on the job in the Tashkent region have been fully recovered. This was reported by the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Employment.

It was noted that B.M., an employee of the Bekobod City Electric Networks Enterprise of "Regional Electric Networks" JSC, died on March 12, 2023, due to an accident involving electrical equipment.

The company had not paid the 340 million soums in damages owed to his family members for over a year. With the intervention of the State Labor Inspection, this amount was fully recovered and paid to the family of the deceased.

For context, 416 employees were injured in 387 accidents during the first 6 months of this year. Among these, 303 were seriously injured, 12 sustained minor injuries, and 101 lost their lives. The highest number of accidents - 26 percent - occurred in the construction sector.

As a result of these accidents, lawsuits were filed to collect more than 823 million soums in compensation from employers. Of this amount, 274 million soums have already been recovered from 10 individuals, and the process to recover the remaining compensation is ongoing.

It is worth noting that earlier, in the Jizzakh region, the Ombudsman secured compensation for a bank employee who died while on duty.
