Several internationally wanted persons accused of large-scale fraud have been extradited from the United Arab Emirates to Uzbekistan. UzA reported this.
According to the report, the return of the wanted persons to the country was achieved through cooperation between Interpol’s National Central Bureaus in Tashkent and Abu Dhabi, as well as the representative of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs at the Consulate General in Dubai.
It was noted that these citizens had been placed on the international wanted list by Uzbekistan’s competent authorities on suspicion of committing fraud on an especially large scale.
Thanks to coordinated actions by foreign partners and Uzbek law enforcement agencies, the wanted persons were handed over to Interpol officers and brought to Uzbekistan.
The detained persons have now been handed over to investigative bodies to carry out the necessary procedural actions. Following the investigation, their actions are expected to be legally assessed, and a relevant decision will be made by the court.
The Interpol National Central Bureau said efforts are consistently continuing to identify criminal suspects hiding abroad and return them to Uzbekistan.
Earlier, it was reported that a citizen wanted for committing fraud in Uzbekistan had been detained in Georgia.
