A citizen of a neighboring country was detained while attempting to smuggle jewelry hidden in his underwear at the “Korasuv” border customs post, which is under the jurisdiction of the Andijan Regional Customs Department. This was reported by the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the report, the individual was stopped while attempting to illegally transport 96 grams of gold jewelry across the border.

Customs officers, who grew suspicious of the man's behavior, conducted a personal inspection in accordance with established procedures and in the presence of witnesses. The inspection revealed that the individual had concealed 19 pieces of jewelry—some worn on his body and others hidden in his underwear.

The jewelry, with an estimated value of 75 million soums, has been temporarily confiscated. Preliminary customs investigations are currently underway.

It is worth noting that a similar incident occurred earlier at the Navoi border customs post, where a man was arrested while attempting to illegally smuggle gold bars concealed in his body.
