The Customs Committee has reported that a person attempted to conceal narcotics in his body and transport them through customs.
It is worth noting that employees at the Oybek border customs post, part of the Tashkent region customs department, subjected the foreign citizen to customs scrutiny using a body scanner device. Subsequently, it was discovered that this individual had concealed 8 packs, totaling 376.5 grams of "opium," within his internal organs, with the intention of smuggling them into Uzbekistan.
According to reports, customs authorities are continuing their investigations regarding this incident.
It is important to recall that just last month, another foreign citizen was apprehended at the Oybek border customs post of the Tashkent region Customs Department while attempting to smuggle 55 kilograms of narcotics into Uzbekistan. Additionally, earlier this month, the largest narcotics seizure in the last 30 years, amounting to 8.5 tons, was intercepted at Tashkent International Airport."
