Date of Giyasov-Stanionis fight was confirmed

The highly anticipated fight between Uzbek professional boxer Shakhram Giyasov and Lithuanian Eimantas Stanionis for the World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight title has been scheduled for March 1, 2025. This announcement was made by the press service of the Professional Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan.  

According to the report, the championship bout will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, as part of a professional boxing event. Giyasov and Stanionis will feature in the main card of the evening.  

The headline fight of the night will see Gervonta Davis face Lamont Roach—a clash originally slated for December 14 but later rescheduled to March 1. Additionally, Jermall Charlo is expected to make his return to the ring during this tournament.  

For context, Eimantas Stanionis last fought in May, securing a points victory against Gabriel Maestre. Meanwhile, Shakhram Giyasov's most recent win came on July 31 against Miguel Parra.
