Greenhouses currently disconnected from gas will be reconnected with gas within 1 day

Earlier, we reported that the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the head of the Administration Sardar Umurzakov to work out the issue of the gas outage of greenhouses. He, in turn, held a meeting with officials.

The meeting also heard from businessmen who own greenhouses.  They made suggestions regarding the problems from which they suffer, and on the burning issues in their work.

As it turned out, JSC «Khudgaztaminot» cut off the natural gas from 268 greenhouses on 700 hectares.  As a result, 70 thousand tons of crops may be lost, 30 million dollars of exports may be lost, and most importantly, about 10 thousand people working in gas-free greenhouses may lose their jobs.

Taking this into account, the Ministry of Energy has been instructed to reconnect all greenhouses disconnected from the gas supply within 1 day.

Also, the Accounts Chamber, together with the relevant law enforcement bodies, was instructed to give a legal assessment of the actions of the heads of regional departments of "Hududgaztaminot" JSC in connection with this situation and to consider the issue of holding them accountable in a legal manner if signs of crime are detected in their actions.
