Person detained in Fergana for attempting to sell hospital land

A person who received 50,000 US dollars in exchange for allocating a plot of land on the territory of a hospital to an entrepreneur for a pharmacy has been detained in the Fergana region, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office reported.

The investigation revealed that during an urgent operation to protect the rights of business entities, conducted in cooperation with the Bagdad district department and the Internal Affairs Directorate, citizen B.S. gained the trust of the head of the private enterprise “B.F.,” S.N., and received 50,000 US dollars in exchange for promising a plot of land on the grounds of the newly built central hospital in the Gulistan area of Bagdad district for the construction of a pharmacy.

He also claimed that the cadastral documents for the land were ready and demanded an additional 3,000 US dollars for registration. He was detained with physical evidence while receiving 1,500 US dollars of this amount.

A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 168 (fraud) and 28, 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.

It is worth noting that earlier, a person was detained in the Yukari Chirchik district of Tashkent region for attempting to sell 5 hectares of land in the government reserve for 200,000 US dollars.
