The head of the Enforcement Bureau in one of the districts of the Fergana region was caught accepting a bribe by abusing his official authority. This was reported by the State Security Service.
It was noted that a state bailiff under his leadership demanded $2,000 in exchange for carrying out enforcement actions related to the forced eviction of defendants from their apartments, based on a writ of execution issued by the civil court.
On June 3 of this year, he received $1,200 of the requested amount as a bribe. During an operational raid conducted jointly by the State Security Service and the Department under the Prosecutor General, he was caught red-handed while receiving the remaining $800. Material evidence was seized at the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated against the Enforcement Bureau official under Article 210, Part 2, Clause “v” of the Criminal Code (bribery). A preventive detention measure has been applied.
As a reminder, earlier in the Asaka district of the Andijan region, an electrical engineer was detained for promising to write off citizens’ debts amounting to 18 million soums.
