Individuals caught hiding drugs in a car’s fuel tank in Fergana

In Fergana Region, individuals attempting to illegally bring more than 11 kilograms of narcotic substances hidden in a vehicle’s fuel tank were detained. The State Security Service reported this.
According to the information, officers thoroughly inspected a Lacetti vehicle driven by a resident of Uzbekistan District who had entered from Tajikistan through the Ravot border customs post located in Beshariq District.
As a result of the inspection, it was found that the vehicle’s fuel tank contained narcotic substances concealed inside, including 10 kilograms and 739 grams of hashish, 412 grams of marijuana, and 35 grams of opium, as well as 6,945 tablets of the potent drug Royal. The seized items were officially documented in accordance with established procedures.
A criminal case has been initiated against the individual under Article 246, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (smuggling), as well as Article 25 and Article 273, Part 5 (illegal preparation, acquisition, storage, and other actions involving narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances with intent to sell, as well as their illegal distribution). A preventive measure of detention has been applied.
It was reported that necessary measures are currently being carried out within the framework of the investigation to identify the suspect’s criminal connections.
It is worth noting that earlier, a total of 32 kilograms of narcotic substances brought from Tajikistan were seized in Fergana Region.
