A blogger with 102,000 subscribers was detained in Fergana for posting content that promoted drugs, according to the regional Department of Internal Affairs.
The individual, born in 1991 in Margilan, posted 665 videos on his Instagram account, which included advertisements for drug use, prohibited by law, and songs that glorified drugs.
The blogger has been charged under Article 56, Part 4 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility for distributing and advertising narcotics-related content. His phone was seized as evidence.
Authorities urged citizens to avoid falling for such harmful advertisements and to report any similar incidents they observe on social media to the relevant authorities.
This follows a previous case in the Fergana region where a 22-year-old blogger was detained for promoting online gambling.
