Four individuals involved in the illegal use of fuel and energy resources in the Fergana region have been sentenced to prison terms ranging from 4 to 10 years. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
It was noted that in the city of Margilan, a criminal case was initiated against citizen T.M. and others who, in collusion with officials of a gas supply company, organized an illegal lime production facility on the territory of a livestock farm. The operation led to the theft of 2.1 million cubic meters of natural gas valued at 5.6 billion soums.
According to the court’s verdict, the individuals were found guilty under Article 169, Part 4, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code (Theft). The head of the gas supply company, M.M., was sentenced to 10 years in prison. His deputy, H.M., received 9 years, company employee A.T. was sentenced to 8 years, and citizen T.M. to 4 years.
“Dear entrepreneurs, use energy resources legally and rationally throughout your activities,” the statement from the Prosecutor General’s Office emphasized.
It is worth noting that earlier in the Fergana region, a gas compressor station used for illegally filling cars with natural gas, worth 2.9 billion soums, was uncovered.
