Fergana incident: Citizen assaulted over family dispute

5291Reports have surfaced on social media about a group of individuals in Fergana attacking a citizen with an axe and brutally beating him. The regional Department of Internal Affairs has stated the incident.
According to the report, on March 10, on Yangi Asr Street, a conflict arose between S.A., born in 1992, and his former brother-in-law, A.A., also born in 1992. The altercation began after A.A. allegedly insulted S.A.’s sister. During the dispute, S.A. and others assaulted A.A., inflicting injuries on various parts of his body.
Preliminary findings from a forensic medical examination classified A.A.’s injuries as moderate.
The Fergana City Police Department has initiated a criminal case against S.A. and his accomplices under Article 105, Part 2, Clause “i” (Intentional Infliction of Moderate Bodily Harm) of the Criminal Code. All suspects have been detained by procedural regulations. Investigations are ongoing, and each individual’s actions will be legally assessed upon conclusion.
As a reminder, earlier in Navoiy region’s Khatirchi district, a school guard was assaulted and abandoned in the mountains. The perpetrator, O.J., was charged under relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and a preventive measure of detention was applied.
