Gas worth 4.1 billion sums stolen in Fergana

A gas filling station for cars in the Fergana district of Fergana region illegally consumed gas valued at 4 billion 193 million sums, the Inspectorate for Control of Electricity, Oil Products and Gas Use reported.

During an inspection carried out by the territorial department of "Uzenergoinspektsiya" in cooperation with law enforcement agencies and a supply company, it was discovered that the gas filling station in Novkent town, owned by "F.P.S" LLC, was unlawfully using natural gas.

The investigation revealed that an external interference was applied to the internal part of the branch pipe within the metering system to alter the volume of gas consumption, in violation of state standards.

Preliminary calculations estimate the damage caused to state interests at 4 billion 193 million sums.

Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting a pre-investigation inquiry into the case.

It is worth noting that a similar incident was recently uncovered in Khorezm, where a gas station illegally used gas valued at 3 billion 48 million sums.
