4132In Uzbekistan, a new initiative has been introduced to connect five poor families with selected intellectuals based on their place of residence. This is outlined in the regulation titled "On the Procedure for Attaching Active Intellectuals to Poor Families and Involving Them in the Formation of a Healthy Lifestyle and Social-Spiritual Environment in the Neighborhood," which was approved on December 27 this year.
The regulation aims to attach active religious leaders and intellectuals to poor families, fostering a healthy lifestyle and enhancing the social-spiritual environment within neighborhoods. Additionally, the initiative includes provisions for purchasing educational materials, sports equipment, and attire for the children of these families to support their education. It also outlines the reimbursement process for expenses incurred by senior citizens participating in sports events.
Under the new system, three active intellectuals will be assigned to work with five poor families from their respective neighborhoods for a period of six months. These intellectuals will collaborate closely with the "Neighborhood Seven" initiative to address the needs of the attached families.
To incentivize the elderly, civil-legal agreements will be established between the "Nuroni" Fund and the selected intellectuals. As part of these agreements, the "Nuroni" Fund will provide incentive payments equivalent to 50 percent of the minimum wage. These payments will be deposited directly onto the intellectuals' bank cards to support their fulfillment of the assigned tasks.
It is worth noting that earlier reports highlighted a monthly incentive payment of 577,500 sums (equivalent to 50 percent of the minimum wage) for active intellectuals engaged in similar initiatives.
