Rewards for veteran donors will be increased

From 1 January 2023, the amount of the monetary award given to persons who recieve the medal “Honorary Donor of the Republic of Uzbekistan” will be increased from 5 times to 15 times the amount of the basic calculation (from 1.5 million to 4.5 million soms.). This was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Justice.

This innovation is introduced in accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further improve the activities of blood service institutions in the Republic and to develop voluntary donation among the population.”

Also, the following rights are granted to the persons awarded with the badge:

 • to go on a main annual vacation at a time convenient for them;
 • free use of all types of city public transport (except taxis with and without direction);
 • receiving referrals for treatment at state sanatoriums without queues;
 • regular donors (donating blood at least 3 times a year) and their close relatives (parents, spouse, children, brothers and sisters, spouse’s parents) during inpatient treatment, when necessary, blood and its components are provided free of charge;
 • the cost of providing donors with free food is the same across the republic – it is set at 3 percent of the minimum wage (27,600 soms);
 • the amount of payment for the immunization and donated plasma to immune donors is proportionally indexed within the level of the increase of the minimum wage;
 • in urgent cases, the use the ambulance service to transport components of donor blood will be permitted.
