The Iran-Uzbekistan match, part of the 2026 World Cup qualifying round 3, Group A, matchday 8, will be officiated by a team of referees led by Omani referee Ahmed Al-Kaf.

Notably, the 42-year-old referee has officiated three matches involving the Uzbekistan national team, with Uzbekistan remaining unbeaten in all of them. However, in club competitions, Al-Kaf refereed a match between "Al-Fayha" and "Pakhtakor", in which the Saudi club emerged victorious.

Al-Kaf also officiated the Uzbekistan-Vietnam final in the 2018 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, a historic match for Uzbek football. The "White Wolves" secured a memorable victory in snowy conditions, claiming their first continental title at the youth level.

It is worth noting that the Iranian press recently published an article analyzing the legionnaire players of the Uzbekistan national team.
