Erdoğan receives Uzbek delegation

On January 20, a delegation from Uzbekistan currently in Ankara met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The delegation included Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Toshpulatov, Minister of Defense Shuhrat Kholmukhamedov, and Head of the State Security Service Bahodir Kurbanov. The meeting was reported by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov on his Telegram channel.

According to the statement, the Uzbek officials conveyed the warm greetings of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It was emphasized that bilateral relations between the two countries are demonstrating positive momentum and that favorable conditions are being created to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.

“Today’s meeting within the framework of the ‘4+4’ mechanism is yet another confirmation that ties between various government agencies of our countries are becoming stronger. The foreign ministries will continue to mobilize all available efforts to ensure the implementation of all agreements reached between our leaders,” Saidov wrote.

It is worth noting that on January 19 in Ankara, Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Defense Shuhrat Kholmukhamedov signed a plan for implementing military cooperation for 2026.
