Hereinafter the chance to export jewelry will increase by 2 times

From 1 January this year, it is allowed to export jewelry worth up to 10,000 dollars in Uzbekistan.  President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said this at the meeting of video selectors dedicated to the issues of industrial development.

It should be noted that up to now it was permitted to take jewelry worth up to 5 thousand dollars across the border.  It was also noted at the meeting that there is a wide range of opportunities in jewelry and that there is a domestic market of 300 million dollars in our country.

"Our local jewelers can easily satisfy this demand. Therefore, to support them, from 1 December:

- guarantees of all banks and the Export Promotion Agency are accepted for late payment of gold and silver;

- the possibility of obtaining a guarantee will be created for individual jewelers;

- license requirement for temporary import and export of gold, silver, and other raw materials necessary for jewelry is canceled;

- Precious and decorative stones used by jewelers will be exempt from customs duties," said the President.

Therefore, the governors of the respective regions were instructed to launch jewelry trade and production complexes in the cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Kokand.
