Starting from June 1, 2025, citizens of Uzbekistan will be able to travel to China without a visa, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The Ministry confirmed that the internal state procedures for the entry into force of the intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa exemption between Uzbekistan and China have been completed.

“In accordance with the provisions of the specified international agreement, the agreement will enter into force on June 1, 2025,” the official statement reads.

The agreement outlines the conditions for mutual visa-free travel between citizens of the two countries. Under its terms, citizens of both Uzbekistan and China will be exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit, or transit for stays of up to 30 days per visit, with a total stay not exceeding 90 days within any 180-day period.

It is emphasized that each stay must not exceed 30 consecutive days. If a longer stay is required, travelers must obtain an appropriate visa in advance.

The agreement does not cover travel for purposes such as employment, education, journalism, or other activities that require prior approval from the relevant authorities of the host country.

Additionally, the visa-free regime does not apply to visits to China’s special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau.

This agreement was initially signed on December 1, 2024, during a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.
