Video of teacher abusing children in Nurafshan sparks investigation (video)

A video has been circulating on social networks, showing a teacher in one of the preschool educational institutions in the Tashkent region being rude to and beating children, sparking public discussion. The regional Department of Preschool and School Education has responded to the situation.

The incident reportedly occurred on April 2 of this year at a family non-governmental preschool educational institution in the city of Nurafshan.

On the same day, a working group, consisting of officials, was formed by the city's Department of Preschool and School Education, and an investigation was conducted at the institution.

"According to the results of the investigation, we would like to inform you that the teacher M.M., who has been officially working at the institution since September, was very rude to the children during the lessons he conducted with them," the report states.

It was revealed that the head of the organization discovered the incident on the video surveillance cameras installed in the room after the training session and shared the video with the staff group for discussion.

On April 3, the head of the organization terminated the contract with educator M.M. and dismissed him from his position.

Officials from the working group also examined the condition of the children at the institution.

“It was determined that the children were not injured. Explanation work was carried out with the organization’s employees,” the report adds.

Currently, the city’s Internal Affairs Department is conducting an investigation into the incident.

It should be noted that earlier, a teacher was also caught beating children at a private kindergarten in the Zangiota district of the Tashkent region. A working group was formed by the Zangiota district’s Department of Preschool and School Education to investigate the incident at the family preschool educational institution where it occurred. On March 6 of this year, Minister of Preschool and School Education Hilola Umarova announced at a meeting with officials from the state and non-state preschool education system that 32 leaders and educators had been dismissed in 2024 following complaints about child abuse.
