Hereinafter, people without a specific place of residence will be placed in a rehabilitation center

The procedure for placing a person without a specific place of residence in a rehabilitation center was included in the Code of Administrative Responsibility.  This was reported by the Ministry of Justice.

It is noted that on 16 December, a law was adopted on the introduction of procedure to the Code of Administrative Responsibility.

If there are grounds for placing a person without a specific place of residence in a rehabilitation center, an employee of the internal affairs body must send a request to the court to place the person in a rehabilitation center within 48 hours after the person is brought to the Internal Affairs Body.  Such a person will be placed in a rehabilitation center for no more than 30 days.

Materials on the placement of a person who does not have a specific place of residence in a rehabilitation center are submitted by the Internal Affairs Body to the district (city) court on criminal cases in the place where such a person is identified.

The submitted petition will be considered individually by the judge in a closed court session within 24 hours.  The law shall come into force from the date of its official announcement.
