The position of cashier will be completely eliminated in the Tashkent metro, the state unitary enterprise “Tashkent metro” reported.
According to the statement, as payment systems are gradually modernized, passengers will now be able to top up their cards or purchase tickets through electronic payment systems and automated ticket machines, without the need to approach ticket-selling operators.
As a result, reforms have been launched in the service system, with 204 cashier positions reduced in the first phase. It was noted that by the end of the year, all stations will be fully equipped with automated ticket machines. Consequently, the positions of cashier and senior operator will be completely eliminated.
It is worth noting that earlier, the first metro line in New Tashkent was expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The project, valued at $110 million, will include a metro line 8 kilometers long with three stations.
