In Uzbekistan, unemployed individuals, including members of families listed in the “Register of low-income families” as well as job seekers without official income, will now have their vocational and foreign language training expenses covered through a voucher system. This was stipulated in the regulation “on the procedure for issuing vouchers for vocational and foreign language training", approved by the government on August 20.
According to the regulation, an electronic register of educational institutions providing training for these categories of individuals on a voucher basis will be maintained in the ecosys.mehnat.uz system of the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment. The applicants may apply for a voucher directly to the district (city) departments of the ministry, through assistants to district (city) governors in local communities, or via the ecosys.mehnat.uz system.
First of all, the district (city) departments will offer the applicant available vacant jobs in accordance with his or her specialty within a day.
If the applicant does not have a specialty or the proposed job is not suitable, the issue of granting a voucher will be considered.
In this process, the applicant will undergo scoring in the ecosys.mehnat.uz system. If it is determined that he or she falls into one of the designated categories, the applicant will be entitled to receive a voucher.
The voucher must be used within three months. An applicant who wishes to study a profession or foreign languages under the voucher program will be entitled to one-time free training.
