On the 31st of May this year, the Presidential Decree "On measures to effectively organize the activities of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change" announced the designation of certain areas as "eco-villages."

Starting from the 1st of March 2024, regions implementing eco-friendly practices will be granted the status of "eco-village."  As part of this initiative, citizens' gatherings within these regions will be recognized and supported as "eco-villages."  Additionally, a Situation Center has been established within the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.

Furthermore, by the 1st of July 2023, the Ministry will take over the management of solid domestic waste landfills previously owned by the "Toza hudud" state unitary enterprises and improvement departments.  After the 1st of July 2023, sanitary cleaning service providers will file claims in court to collect debts resulting from services rendered to the population for the collection and disposal of solid household waste.

Moreover, there will be a stronger emphasis on reducing paper usage in government bodies and organizations affiliated with the Ministry.  The aim is to fully digitalize operations in certain areas while closely monitoring the transition away from paper.

It is important to note that this decision also entails a change in the name of the ministry, from the Ministry of Natural Resources to the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.  Furthermore, the introduction of the "Public Environmental Supervisor" system, effective from 1st of July 2023, and several other environmental innovations were implemented.
