7118In Uzbekistan, it is expected that responsibility will be determined for those who drive cars aggressively, drift, and move recklessly. Yesterday, on November 28, during the meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, deputies discussed the draft law reflecting these issues.
"Additions and amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the road safety system" were developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The draft law on Administrative Responsibility includes 6 new articles and amendments and additions to 29 articles.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Bekmurad Abdullayev, addressed the deputies and informed them that, based on in-depth analysis of road traffic accidents occurring under the law, it is the culture of driving by some drivers, which is very common today and does not have clear responsibility defined by the law. Violations such as aggressive driving, drifting, checkerboard movement, creating obstacles on the roads, etc., were highlighted.
"During the development of the project, the best practices of a number of foreign countries, including France, Germany, Australia, and China, were used," said Abdullayev.
Deputies approved the law in the third reading and sent it to the Senate.
Let us remind you that this draft law envisages the introduction of a system of calculating penalty points for violations, as well as the establishment of criminal liability for driving vehicles while intoxicated or evading inspection.
