From September this year in Uzbekistan, students in the 10th and 11th grades will be able to choose which subjects they want to study.  This will begin from the 2023/2024 school year.

According to the plan, general education institutions will introduce the practice of transferring knowledge through specialized programs tailored to the interests and abilities of 10th and 11th graders.  Students will be required to study eight subjects, with an additional two subjects being optional.  The compulsory subjects include chemistry-biology, mathematics-physics, history-law, or native language and literature-foreign language.

To enhance the quality of education and implement reforms based on foreign best practices, starting from 1st of September 2023, one general secondary educational institution in each district (city) will offer instruction in two foreign languages and one profession.

Additionally, beginning in the 2023/2024 academic year, students in general secondary educational institutions will receive gradual education in universal and national values, patriotism, effective communication skills, critical and creative thinking, and teamwork.
