6537A new night tariff is being introduced to promote home charging of electric vehicles. This initiative was announced on June 10 during a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoev, focusing on measures for efficient energy use and stable operation of energy sector facilities in the autumn-winter season.
The number of electric vehicles in the country has increased tenfold over the past three years, reaching 35,000. Additionally, electric car production is starting in Jizzakh. This necessitates the consideration of new charging capacities in the development of the electrical system.
To support this, a night tariff will be implemented to encourage the charging of electric vehicles at home. Residents who install meters on their charging equipment will benefit from lower rates for nighttime charging.
Furthermore, charging stations of up to 22 kilowatts will be installable in streets and around apartment buildings, while stations up to 7 kilowatts can be installed within apartments. Charging stations will also be set up in parking lots of government organizations, shopping centers, hotels, and recreation centers.
