Eldor Shomurodov, the striker for Uzbekistan's national football team and the Roma club, is reportedly close to transferring to Empoli. Journalist Fabrizio Di Marzio shared the news on his X page.

According to reports, Shomurodov is no longer part of Roma coach Claudio Ranieri's plans. As a result, the club is looking to sell the Uzbek forward during the winter transfer window. Empoli has emerged as the leading candidate to secure his signature.

For context, the 29-year-old forward joined Roma in 2021 and is under contract until 2026. This season, Shomurodov has made 13 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
