From now on, export revenues generated in host countries, tourist inflows, and the placement of Uzbek citizens in legal employment abroad will serve as key performance indicators (KPIs) for ambassadors. This was stated on January 15 during a video conference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions abroad.
The meeting noted that staffing levels at embassies, consular offices, and missions to international organizations have been expanded, and that monthly salaries of diplomatic staff and Foreign Ministry employees have been increased.
“However, are all our diplomatic missions fully aware of this and making full use of the available opportunities?”
There is only one measure for evaluating diplomatic activity, and that is results.
An ambassador is a state representative who brings in investment and technologies, opens new export markets, activates transport and logistics corridors, increases tourist flows, creates conditions for legal labor migration, and, most importantly, protects the rights of our citizens,” Mirziyoyev said.
Accordingly, export revenues, tourist inflows, and the number of citizens employed legally abroad in host countries have been designated as KPIs for ambassadors.
