It was found that “Dok-1 Max” and “Ambronol” laboratory tests were conducted incorrectly

It was found that “Dok-1 Max” and “Ambronol” drugs were not subjected to sufficient laboratory tests.  This was reported by the State Security Service.

These drugs, imported by “Kuramax medical” limited liability company, were subjected to laboratory tests by the “Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines” and certificates of compliance were issued.

During the initial investigation, it was found that the requirements of the regulatory legal document were grossly violated by the responsible employees of the “Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines” limited liability company.  As a result of these drugs not being subjected to the correct laboratory tests, low-quality drugs were allowed to be put on sale.

As part of the criminal case, 2 executives of the “Kuramax Medical” Limited Liability Company and 2 responsible employees of the “Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines” Limited Liability Company were placed in the investigative detention center of the State Security Service as suspects.

Necessary measures are being taken to verify the proper registration of medicines belonging to “Kuramax Medical” LLC in Uzbekistan and the actions taken by officials in the healthcare system in this regard.

We remind you that by the order of the Pharmaceutical Network Development Agency of the Ministry of Health on 22 December 2022, it was decided to withdraw “Dok-1 Max” drugs from pharmacies.

It was also reported that 7 officials were dismissed from their positions after the death of 18 children in Samarkand due to the consumption of “Dok-1 Max” syrup.

On 28 December, it was announced that another child died after drinking “Dok-1 Max” syrup in Kashkadarya.

Following this, the Investigative Department of the State Security Service initiated a criminal case against the officials of the “Kuramax Medical” Limited Liability Company and the “Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines” Limited Liability Company, and the suspects were placed in the investigative detention center of the State Security Service.

Later, India’s Marion Biotech Pvt.  Ltd” company stopped production of these drugs.

The sale of all types of medicines produced by this company was also stopped.

On 2 January 2023, it was reported that a 3-year-old boy in Fergana was being treated for acute drug poisoning after drinking Dok-1 Max syrup.  It was reported that seven patients were poisoned by “Dok-1 Max” syrup in Syrdarya region, four of them have recovered and three are currently in the intensive care unit.

Earlier, “Dok-1 Max” was found to contain 300 times more toxic substances than normal.

In addition, it was reported that nine children were poisoned by “Dok-1 Max” in Tashkent region.
