Olympic champion Diyora Keldiyorova has been appointed as a special representative of the National Agency for Social Protection, with a mandate to combat gender inequality and violence against children. This was announced by Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva, the agency's first deputy director.
"Diyora's Olympic victory serves as a catalyst for progressive change, showcasing to the world that Uzbekistan is a nation of equal opportunities and boundless potential. She has inscribed her name in history as the first Olympic judo champion from the Central Asian region, and now she is poised to inspire an entire generation," stated Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva.
Mirziyoyeva further noted that Keldiyorova's new role as a special representative is a powerful invitation to all women in Uzbekistan to excel in any field while upholding traditional family values. She expressed confidence that Keldiyorova's efforts will not only accelerate the achievement of gender equality within the country but also reinforce Uzbekistan's standing as a progressive nation on the international stage, inspiring women across the globe.
It is worth recalling that earlier, Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva met with Diyora Keldiyorova in Paris, where Keldiyorova accepted the offer to collaborate on a series of initiatives aimed at combating domestic violence against women and addressing gender injustice in society. She will serve as both the face and a participant in these projects in cooperation with the National Social Protection Agency.
