New tasks Assigned to the State Security Service

36721The State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as an authorized state body, has been assigned several new tasks. This decision has been outlined in President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s decree titled “On additional measures to improve the system of ensuring the security of important information infrastructure objects of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
As per the decree, the State Security Service has been assigned the following responsibilities:
Monitoring the level of cybersecurity in critical information infrastructure (referred to as MAI) objects and developing an assessment and monitoring procedure for them.
Participating in the control and monitoring of cybersecurity, in collaboration with the control inspection under the Ministry of Digital Technologies, to ensure and enhance cybersecurity.
Informing the Secretariat of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan within 48 hours about the results of cybersecurity control measures conducted on extremely important and classified Important Information Infrastructure objects.
The State Security Service has been given the task of creating a temporary single state register of Important Information Infrastructure objects of the Republic of Uzbekistan by October 1 of this year. Additionally, they are expected to approve a temporary regulation defining the classification procedure for Important Information Infrastructure objects.
Please note that the responsibilities mentioned above have been assigned to the State Security Service in accordance with the decision made by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to enhance the security of important information infrastructure objects within the Republic of Uzbekistan.
