During the semifinals of the International Judo Federation (IJF) in Tashkent on March 5th, Davlat Bobonov showcased an outstanding performance, earning a nomination for the "Best Ippon of the Year" award.

Bobonov faced Hungarian Christian Tot in the semifinals, a match described as a "final before the final." He impressively defeated his opponent in just 31 seconds.

Voting for this nomination is ongoing on the ‘Awards.ijf’ page, with the winners set to be announced at the "Big Double" event in Paris on February 3-4 next year.

For context, 26-year-old State Bobonov earned a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and emerged as the World Cup champion in 2022, hosted in Tashkent. Additionally, he secured a silver medal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou earlier this year.
