Person arrested for growing 670 cannabis plants on his property

A man who grew 670 cannabis bushes on his property in the Samarkand region has been arrested, according to a report by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On August 1, during a rapid operation in the Yangiarik neighborhood of the Samarkand district, a man born in 1976 was found tending to 670 cannabis plants in his field. Additionally, 15.3 kilograms of marijuana were seized from his yard as physical evidence.

Investigations are ongoing regarding the involvement of three other individuals connected to this case. A criminal case has been initiated by the investigative department of the regional DIA under Article 270, Part 2, Clause "b" and Article 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code, and investigative efforts are underway.

As a reminder, a similar incident occurred earlier in Margilan, where a person was arrested with 37 kilograms of drugs in his house.
