Ahror Burhonov, press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has called on Uzbek citizens to ensure they have all necessary documents, legal requirements, and travel arrangements in order before departing for foreign destinations. He shared this advice on his Telegram channel.

Burhonov noted that recently, some Uzbek nationals have encountered difficulties when traveling abroad, particularly due to documentation errors, unclear work contracts, or involvement in illegal activities that led to complicated situations.

To avoid such risks, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson urged travelers to carefully consider the following before embarking on a trip:

  • Study visa regulations, migration policies, and legal requirements of the destination country.
  • Verify that any work contract is legally binding and officially registered if traveling for employment.
  • Cross-check job or study offers provided by foreign individuals or firms using official sources before accepting them.

Burhonov also emphasized the importance of keeping family members and loved ones informed about travel plans and obtaining contact details for diplomatic missions in case of emergencies. He reassured citizens that the Foreign Ministry remains committed to protecting their rights and ensuring their security abroad, while also highlighting that responsible and informed decision-making by travelers is essential for avoiding complications.

Previously, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Baxtiyor Saidov received a parliamentary inquiry regarding the status of Uzbek citizens abroad. In response, Burhonov reaffirmed the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding Uzbeks worldwide, regardless of their location, and ensuring this remains a top priority.
