"It has been discovered that 18 enterprises located in the city of Tashkent are discharging contaminated wastewater with high concentrations of chemicals into the Bozsuv Wastewater Treatment facility. This information was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

It is noted that the composition of the wastewater entering the "Bozsuv wastewater treatment" facility, as well as its treatment and compliance with current procedures and regulations in the "Quyi Bozsuv" canal, are being discussed with the participation of experts from the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.

The study revealed that 18 business entities (15 textiles and 3 birdhouses) located in Tashkent city are discharging contaminated wastewater with high concentrations of chemicals into the wastewater network.

It is reported that the "Bozsuv wastewater treatment" facility is designed for biological treatment of incoming wastewater, and it does not have the capability for chemical and physical treatment of wastewater.

"The excessive concentrations of nitrogen ammonium, nitrogen nitrite, biological oxygen consumption, chemical oxygen consumption, oil products, phosphorus, iron, and chromium in the effluents have resulted in the emission of hydrogen sulfide, which exceeds the regulated limit in the surrounding air. The foul odor emanating from the polluted water has led to protests from the residents in the area," stated the report from the General Prosecutor's Office.

The General Prosecutor's Office has issued a warning to the economic entities that violated the law, specifically targeting "Tashkent City Water Supply" LLC, and has advised them to rectify the deficiencies based on the results of laboratory analysis. The warning also included the possibility of contract cancellations for those who fail to address the issues."
