A driver who disobeyed the lawful order of a traffic police officer and later accused the officer of wrongdoing in social media posts has been arrested in Bukhara. The Bukhara Regional Traffic Safety Department issued a statement clarifying the incident.

According to the department, the driver was stopped during a routine check, and the inspector approached him in accordance with the established procedure to request his documents. However, the driver refused to comply and did not present any documents.

“The driver attempted to portray himself as a victim. After his refusal to present the required documents, the officer determined that he was operating the vehicle without proper documentation. Consequently, the vehicle was impounded in accordance with the law,” the department said.

The statement added that the driver, enraged by the situation, attempted to discredit the inspector by posting videos on social media, accusing the officer of misconduct and attempting to damage his reputation.

The Bukhara City Court later reviewed the case and found the driver guilty of administrative offenses under Article 194, Part 1 (failure to comply with the lawful requirements of an internal affairs officer) and Article 195, Part 2 (distorting and distributing images or videos of law enforcement officers in a manner that leads to their discredit) of Uzbekistan’s Code of Administrative Responsibility. He was sentenced to seven days of administrative detention.

It is worth noting that a similar incident occurred earlier when TV presenter Khusnora Shodiyeva alleged that she had been insulted by a traffic patrol officer in Tashkent. The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs responded, stating that Shodiyeva had been playing loud music, blocking the road, and failed to comply with the lawful orders of the traffic officer.
