Kogon resident receives 23-year prison sentence for murder

4905In Kogon city, Bukhara region, a man has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for fatally stabbing his acquaintance. This information was reported by Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court.
The incident occurred on October 13, 2024. The defendant, during a dispute, intentionally stabbed his acquaintances, N.A. (a woman) and U.D. (a man), with a kitchen knife. As a result, U.D. succumbed to his injuries at the city medical association.
The Kogon city criminal court concluded the trial regarding this murder case.
The court found the defendant guilty under Article 97 (intentional murder) Part 2, Clause "j" of the Criminal Code, sentencing him to 20 years in prison. Additionally, under Article 97 Part 2, Clauses "a" and "j" through Article 25, he received a 15-year sentence. Based on Article 59 (sentencing for multiple crimes) of the Criminal Code, the sentences were partially combined, resulting in a final sentence of 23 years in prison.
It is worth noting that earlier, in the Samarkand region, a mother-in-law was sentenced to 13 years in prison for killing her one-month-old daughter-in-law.
