Men punished for staging video of man hung upside down in Bukhara (video)

Individuals who filmed a video showing a man hung upside down by his legs in Peshku district of Bukhara region have been punished, the Bukhara Regional Department of Internal Affairs reported.

According to authorities, the video was staged by the owner of an Instagram channel and the owners of a catering establishment to attract customers and gain popularity on social media. The footage showed a man hanging upside down while a person playing the role of a butcher sharpened a knife nearby.

The video also contained expressions that violated moral standards and demeaned human dignity. In addition, it was found to be in груbe violation of advertising laws and public conduct regulations.

The collected materials were reviewed by the Peshku District Criminal Court. The offenders were found guilty under Article 178-1 of the Administrative Responsibility Code (violation of advertising legislation) and were fined seven times the base calculation amount, totaling 2,824,000 soums.

Earlier, it was reported that a businessman in the same district had been detained for attempting to sell 290 hectares of land for $600,000.
