Bukhara mining scam: 2.1 billion soums in electricity illicitly siphoned

In the Gijduvon district of Bukhara region, it has been determined that an illegally established mining farm unlawfully siphoned off electrical energy worth 2.1 billion soums. This information was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the investigation, conducted by responsible authorities in the Gijduvon district, a search of a non-residential building belonging to citizen Sh.S. revealed that 22 “Antminer L3+” mining devices were being used to operate an illegal mining farm. Preliminary calculations indicate that, as a result, electrical energy valued at 2.1 billion soums was unlawfully appropriated.

In addition, during the inspection of the building, four “Whatspower P21” devices that were disconnected from the power supply and 28 malfunctioning “Antminer L3+” mining units were also found and subsequently seized by regulations.

Investigative measures are currently underway as the case is under further review.

It should be recalled that a similar illegal mining farm, which illicitly used electrical energy valued at 1.2 billion soums, was previously exposed in the Bukhara region.
