Today, from 1 April, the speed limit for cars has been reduced to 60 kilometers per hour. This was reported by the Information Agency of Uzbekistan.
It is noted that, according to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 28 February 2023, the maximum speed of vehicles in the cities of Tashkent and Nukus and in the centers of regions and districts was reduced from 70 to 60 kilometers per hour.
This was done in order to reform the field of road safety throughout Uzbekistan based on the idea of “The city is not for cars, but for pedestrians.”
