Uzbekistan to face Egypt today

Today, 14 November, the Uzbekistan national football team will play against Egypt as part of an international friendly tournament held in Al Ain, UAE. The match will kick off at 21:00 Tashkent time at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.

The tournament features four teams that have qualified for the 2026 World Cup: Iran, Cabo Verde, Uzbekistan, and Egypt.

Yesterday, 13 November, in the first semi-final, Iran defeated Cabo Verde in a penalty shootout to advance to the final. The winner of today’s Uzbekistan vs. Egypt match will face Iran in the final, while the losing team will compete against Cabo Verde for third place.

For context, this will be the third match under Italian coach Fabio Cannavaro’s leadership of the Uzbekistan national team. So far, the team has recorded one victory and one defeat under his guidance.

It is also noted that earlier, head coach Fabio Cannavaro announced the list of players called up for the November gathering.
