Today, January 17, Uzbekistan’s Olympic national team will take to the field in the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup. Ravshan Khaydarov’s side will face China at this stage of the tournament. The match will be played at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium and will kick off at 16:30 Tashkent time.
So far, teams from these age categories have met three times. Uzbekistan won two of those encounters, while one match ended in a draw.
For reference, China’s Olympic team advanced to the quarterfinals after finishing second in Group D, recording two draws and one victory. Uzbekistan’s Olympic team, meanwhile, topped Group C with two wins and one draw to secure a place in the quarterfinals.
The winner of the match between Uzbekistan and China will face Vietnam in the semifinals.
