Yesterday, February 12, the Asian Cup for players under the age of 20 began on the green fields of China. Today, February 13, the Uzbekistan national team will start its participation in the tournament.
Farhod Nishonov's team, competing in Group "C," will face their Yemeni counterparts in the first round. The match is set to kick off at 14:15 Tashkent time.
In the other Group "C" match, Iran will play against Indonesia at 16:30.
It is worth noting that the Uzbekistan national team is the defending champion of the tournament. In the final of the 2023 competition held in Tashkent, they narrowly defeated Iraq to claim the continental title.
This year’s tournament in China also serves as a qualifier for the World Cup, which will be hosted by Chile next year. The four semi-finalists of the continental championship will secure a spot in the Junior World Cup.
