Mirziyoyev to participate in Independence Day events today

Today, August 29, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in a ceremony commemorating the victims of repression at the Martyrs’ Memorial Alley and will lay flowers at the Independence Monument in the New Uzbekistan Park, according to Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.
In the evening, the Head of State is scheduled to attend a festive event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence and will deliver a congratulatory address to the nation.
The President also plans to review ongoing creative and development projects in Tashkent.
Earlier, Paolo Zampolli, Special Representative of former U.S. President Donald Trump, conveyed Trump’s warm greetings and congratulations to Mirziyoyev on the occasion of Uzbekistan’s Independence Day.
