Uzbek man drowns while swimming in Bashkortostan

An Uzbek citizen has died by drowning while swimming in the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan, according to the region’s Emergency Situations Department.

The incident occurred on June 15, when the body of a 50-year-old Uzbek man was recovered from a pond in the village of Galiullinka, located in the Bakalinsky district. Witnesses stated that the man was intoxicated and had entered a body of water not designated for swimming.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

As previously reported, a separate drowning incident recently occurred in Uzbekistan, where three minors died in a pond in the Parkent district of the Tashkent region. A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 116 (Failure to Perform Professional Duties) and 207 (Negligence in Office) of the Criminal Code.
