Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov has been instructed to dismiss the heads of internal anti-corruption control structures in 117 ministries and agencies. These positions are to be filled with honest, dedicated, and professional personnel, who will be assigned clear responsibilities. This directive was announced on March 5 during an expanded meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which focused on evaluating anti-corruption efforts and setting future priorities.
It was decided that regional compliance officers in ministries will be directly appointed by the respective minister, who will bear political responsibility and be held personally accountable for corruption within their system.
The agency’s operational approach will undergo a complete transformation. As a trial, compliance oversight for five entities—the Ministries of Health, Construction, and Water Resources, as well as Uzbekneftgaz and Uzsuvta’minot—will be transferred to the Anti-Corruption Agency.
By the end of the year, these ministries will report to the National Council on how many corruption risks have been eliminated and what improvements have been made for citizens.
Additionally, the agency, in collaboration with ministers and governors, will conduct quarterly in-depth studies of at least three sectors with high corruption levels, down to the district level. Based on these analyses, specific measures will be developed to digitize processes and eliminate bureaucratic barriers.
Within two months, a "roadmap" will be developed based on recommendations from international rating organizations. This roadmap will outline specific tasks for each ministry and agency. Proposals will also be made to penalize leaders who fail to meet expectations.
