Street in Bogot to be named after Shakarjon Khujaniyazova

6773One of the streets in the Bogot district of the Khorezm region will be named after Shakarjon Khujaniyazova. This announcement was made today, May 2, during a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, where the priority tasks for the socio-economic development of the Khorezm region were discussed.
"Shakarjon Khujaniyazova, one of the most respected female leaders in Khorezm, passed away eight years ago. I knew Shakarjon Opa very well for many years. Every time I visited Khorezm, we had sincere and meaningful conversations. She lived with great concern for the people and the homeland, showing devotion to her profession. She never stopped working honestly and selflessly," President Mirziyoyev said.
The President also proposed celebrating the 70th anniversary of Shakarjon Khujaniyazova's birth in Khorezm on June 12 of this year. In honor of her legacy, one of the streets in Bogot and the rhythmic gymnastics school she founded will be named after her. Additionally, a leadership competition will be held among active women in the region, and Khojaniyazova’s life as a courageous and hardworking woman will be widely covered.
For context, Shakarjon Khujaniyazova was born in 1955 in the Bogot district, Khorezm region. She graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Land Reclamation in 1977. Her career began as an accountant at the Narimonov collective farm, and she later worked as the deputy director of secondary vocational and technical school No. 6 in the district, eventually becoming the director.
Khujaniyazova served in various important roles, including as the first deputy and deputy mayor of the Khorezm region, the chairperson of the regional Women's Committee, and the mayor of the Bogot district. She was a dedicated mother of five children and received numerous awards for her service, including the title of Honored Agricultural Worker of Uzbekistan, the "Mehnat Shuhrati" ("Labour Fame") Order, and the "Fidokorona Xizmatlari Uchun" ("For Selfless Service")Order from the government.
Shakarjon Khujaniyazova passed away on October 27, 2017, and at the time, President Mirziyoyev expressed his condolences for her loss.
