Nearly 100 billion UZS worth of gas and electricity stolen in a month

In October, illegal use of energy resources caused an estimated loss of 99 billion UZS, the Inspectorate for Control of Electricity, Oil Products, and Gas Use reported.

During inspections conducted over the past month with the participation of law enforcement authorities, 192 cases of illegal consumption of energy resources were identified.

According to preliminary calculations, 22.3 million kWh of electricity (worth 63.9 billion UZS) and 11.4 million cubic meters of natural gas (worth 35 billion UZS) were misappropriated, resulting in a total estimated loss of 99.015 billion UZS.

Additionally, 479 administrative cases were officially recorded for violations of energy consumption regulations. Relevant documents have been submitted to law enforcement agencies to ensure proper action against offenders.

Previously, in Andijan city, Andijan region, a private company was caught illegally using electricity worth 4.6 billion UZS.
