Individual was arrested for embezzling funds meant for a sick girl

A person who opened a fraudulent account in the name of a sick girl from Karakalpakstan and embezzled donations from the public has been arrested. This was reported by the Cyber Security Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The case came to light when I.G., a woman from Karakalpakstan, filed a complaint stating that an unknown individual had used her daughter's photo on social media to solicit money and requested legal action.

Following an investigation by the cyber security units of the rapid search service, it was discovered that the crime was committed by D.M., a resident of the Fergana region.

D.M. had allegedly opened an account in the name of I.G.'s sick daughter, Kh.L., and had been fraudulently collecting and embezzling money donated by citizens.

A criminal case has been opened against D.M. under Part 3 of Article 168 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting that earlier, another fraudster was arrested for similarly opening an account in someone else’s name and embezzling funds meant for a sick girl's medical treatment.
